Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known Ashanti. Ashanti was birthed on the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She is a US singer songwriter. Ashanti gained fame as when she was a teen. In 2002, she signed with Murder Inc. Records. Ashanti appeared the same day as Fat Joe's What's Luv? the song "What's Love?" by Fat Joe and Ja Rule's "It's Always" on Time were both huge hits. The first female artist to have the first and second spots within the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at first place and the track What's Luv? The song is called What's Luv! This is the place to celebrate the birthday of her favorite actress. Ashanti Shequoiya is also known as Ashanti and she was born October 13th 1980, in Glen Cove New York. Tina Douglas was her mother as well as Ken Kaide Thomas Douglas had previously had a voice. The oldest of the three is she has a Kenashia Shia who's her older sister. Douglas was named Ashanti Douglas to Ghana following her father's Ashanti Empire. Women held immense power in the Ashanti Empire and Douglas would like Ashantis to emulate that. James the Ashanti's great-grandfather has been a prominent civil rights advocate along with Martin Luther King Jr. during the 1960s. Ashanti's mother stumbled upon her talent after listening to her singing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti was in the film of Spike Lee's Malcolm X (1992) and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? as a young extra. She also had a few cameos in music videos including K.R.S.-Act One's MC's don't know and the 8-Off's Ghetto Girl. After being wooed by a variety of label labels, including Bad Boy and Jive Ashanti had a difficult time gaining success as a vocalist. Despite this she continued to sing in and around New York and began hanging in the Murder Inc. recording studio hoping to get a major break. Ashanti originally appeared on the track of Big Pun's We Roll as a backing singer. Ashanti was also on the single by Fat Joe, What's Luv? Ja Rule's Always On Time and Fat Joe's Where is Love. The sample used in her first single Foolish was taken from DeBarge's with Me song from 1983. Ashanti made her debut album, titled "Ashanti" in 2002, under Irv Getti's Murder Inc. Record Label. The Declaration the fourth studio album was released June 3, 2008. Hey Baby, After the Club (released via radio and digital formats) came out October 16 in 2008. She starred in the film Christmas in the City and was Latasha Montclair on Army Wives. Aitch performs in her Rock wit U song for Baby on March 10, 2022.
