Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actress for more than 20 years. Her most famous role was that of Skyler on AMC's drama Breaking Bad. She won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance in Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. She also played Martha Bullock in Deadwood and Jean Ward on The Practice. Anna Gunn, born 1968 in Sante Fe New Mexico fell in love with acting in preparation for her first performance before moving to Ohio. She did theatre studies at Northwestern University, and spent an entire semester at the British American Drama Academy. Anna began her career in Chicago-area theatres for a couple of years. After that, she switched to film and television. Anna had her first big role as Arden in the TV show Down the Shore. Down the Shore aired 29 episodes in the year 1992. Anna continued to appear in movies as well as TV shows such Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and others up to the late 1990's. Anna was later placed in The Practice as Jean Ward. Martha Bullock played two full seasons in Deadwood and was filming between 2000 and 2001. Skyler played her part in Breaking Bad. Sully in addition to Deadwood was another film she was a part of. Gunn also took to the stage in a David Schwimmer directed production Sex With Strangers. In 2022, Gunn also played in a 4-part audio-play show known as "Numbered Days". The love story that exists between Walter White and his wife Skyler is the most prominent element of the story on Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and the eventual end of their relationship mirroring the same arc of Walter White's last years of life.
